DAVID BOYNTON
was born and raised on O`ahu. For the past 35 years he has
been photographing Hawaii’s natural environment, with photographs
appearing in dozens of local and national publications. He was the
primary photographer for four books: Kaua`i Movie Book; Kaua`i: Ancient
Place Names and Their Stories; Kaua`i The Garden Island, a Pictorial History; and By Wind, By Waves. He’s been a writer for local magazines, and several books including Discover Hawaii’s Natural Forests and Spectacular Hawai`i. He did both writing and photography for Kilauea Point and Kauai’s National Wildlife
Refuges; Kaua`i Days; Flowers, Images from Hawaii's Gardens; and Na
Pali, Images from Kauai's Northwestern Coastline. |
Boynton has been a teacher for the Hawai`i Department of Education
since 1971. Currently, he is the environmental resource teacher for
Kaua`i School District and director of Koke`e Discovery Center, an
over night outdoor education facility he helped develop at Koke`e State
Park.
His extensive stock photography collection primarily features Kaua`i,
but also includes the other main Hawaiian Islands. He is as passionate
about photography as he is about protecting and preserving the natural environmental beauty of the Islands. |
